The 1000 Calorie Leg Workout

Hi Guys,
Ever wondered how you could burn in excess of 1000 calories by doing a good leg workout for say about 60-70 minutes? It's very easy & I mean it. It's really simple, because while you are weight training especially large muscle groups like your Legs, you can burn 400-500 calories per session & when you finish your weight training your body continues to burn calories for the next 3-4 hours. Your body still burns calories when you are not in the workout zone, which means that your body is burning calories for 3-4 hours at 25% of what it was burning during your training period. The calorie burning can vary depending on what kind of a workout you are doing i.e. a light or moderate or heavy workout. The workout I did today was a Moderate workout.

To put this simply, I manage to burn 500 calories in my Leg workouts & post that if I would burn 25% of 500= 125 calories per hour, I would end up burning anywhere in the range of 900-1000 calories. Now just to make sure that I am burning 1000 calories in those 4 hours I usually end up doing cardio for 10-15 minutes where I would burn anywhere from 150-200 calories.

Remember, when you are doing weight training your body is burning calories even post your workout unlike Cardio where the calorie burning process stops when you conclude your workout.
